BTEA Welcomes Inaugural Charter Flight From Slovakia

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in partnership with “Visit Bahrain,” has welcomed the inaugural charter flight carrying tourists from the Slovak Republic to Bahrain.

This marks the commencement of a series of weekly flights (every Friday and Wednesday) extending until the end of June 2024.

The initiative aims to entice visitors from across the globe, spotlighting Bahrain as a top-tier global tourist destination.

The maiden voyage hosted 189 media travellers and social media influencers dedicated to promoting Bahrain as a premier tourist spot through their platforms.

The tourist group was greeted with a comprehensive tourism programme, encompassing cultural performances highlighting Bahrain’s rich heritage and hospitality traditions.

This included live artistic displays and traditional musical performances, as well as organised visits to Bahrain’s key attractions.

They were provided with the opportunity to indulge in the Kingdom’s distinctive tourist offerings, including state-of-the-art facilities, bustling commercial complexes, upscale hotels, and gourmet restaurants.

Dr. Nasser Qaedi, BTEA CEO, extended his heartfelt wishes for their delightful stay in the Kingdom, emphasising that these trips align with the authority’s strategic vision.

This strategy aims to attract new tourism markets by showcasing the Bahraini tourism product and acquainting visitors with the Kingdom’s advanced amenities and diverse tourism activities tailored to various tastes.

Dr. Qaedi emphasised BTEA’s steadfast commitment to continuously explore new tourism markets. This commitment is underscored by leveraging the unique features of Bahrain’s tourism sector, the robust national tourism product, the Kingdom’s exceptional services, captivating tourist destinations, and advanced tourism infrastructure.

He highlighted BTEA’s dedication to conducting regular meetings with representatives of the tourism sector and relevant authorities, including hotel facility managers, travel agents, tour operators, and event organisers from various countries, to keep them updated about the latest destinations and upcoming projects in Bahrain, ensuring tourists are provided with a holistic and exceptional tourism experience.

Ali Amralla, CEO of Visit Bahrain, the organiser of these charter flights, emphasised the vital importance of collaborating with BTEA to advance Bahrain’s tourism sector and ensure its long-term sustainability.

He highlighted his team’s extensive efforts in Slovakia to attract partners and introduce them to residency and entertainment opportunities in Bahrain.

He outlined a diverse programme for upcoming Slovak tourist groups, offering a wide range of activities and events and an in-depth exploration of Bahrain’s rich history.
