Tax exemptions are on the cards for Bahrainis earning less than BD600 per month. The proposal, set for discussion soon, aims to elevate citizens’ living standards and protect their hard-earned income, said MPs Mohammed Al Ma’arifi, Zainab Abdulameer, Mohammed Al Rafai, Mohammed Al Aliwi, and Hisham Al Awadi.

They emphasized that their objective is not to burden those with modest incomes with exorbitant taxes but rather to ensure a minimum essential standard of living.

The House of Representatives’ Financial and Economic Affairs Committee has already expressed a positive stance towards the proposal, signalling potential support.

The upcoming general session will see the proposal put to a vote, marking a pivotal moment in potential tax relief for those in the lower income brackets.
