COVID-19: Qatar reports 236 new cases

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Qatar today recorded 236 new cases of coronavirus raising the overall number of confirmed infections up to 121,523.

Meanwhile, 276 COVID-19 patients have made a full recovery in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 118,475, leaving 2,843 active cases under treatment.

Out of the 236 new cases, 229 are local cases and 16 from travellers returning from abroad. No new fatalities have been reported, keeping the country’s death toll at 205.

The latest cases were detected after the ministry conducted 5,206 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 685,839 tests. There are 42 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 401.

One patients was admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 48.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
