Bahrain: Annual inflation rate rises to 4% in September 2022
The annual inflation rate stood at 4% in September of 2022, the highest since December of 2013, unchanged from the previous month. The main drivers of inflation were food & non-alcoholic beverages (10.7% vs 10.4% in August); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (13.4%, the same as in August); restaurants & hotels (13.4% vs 15.1%) and transport (8.1% vs 6.5%).
On the other hand, decreases were seen in prices of clothing & footwear (-9.3% vs -8.9%) and housing & utilities (-0.7% vs -0.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up by 0.3%, after increasing by 0.2% in the previous month.
