UAE-based Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman of Samvardhana Motherson International, and Yusuff Ali MA, the founder of LuLu Group, figured in the top 10 wealthy non-resident Indians (NRIs) list of wealth tracker Hurun.
While Sehgal and family, residing in Dubai, figured seventh in the list with an estimated wealth of $7.46 billion (Rs 626 billion), Yusuff Ali, based in Abu Dhabi, holds the eighth spot with $6.55 billion (Rs 550 billion).
A total of 102 NRIs featured on the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, with nearly 79 percent of them being self-made.
With 46 individuals, the USA is the most preferred country for NRIs, followed by the UAE and the UK.
UK-based Gopichand Hinduja & family of Hinduja, LN Mittal and family of the Arcelor Group and Anil Agarwal and family of the Vedanta Group topped the wealthiest NRI list, ranking first, second and third spots, respectively.
