UAE: Chartered India Flights Repatriate Over 1,500 Workers

Chartered flights have started operations from the UAE as the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission in underway to repatriate stranded Indians stuck abroad. So far more than 1,500 workers have been repatriated since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Etihad Airways flew out stranded passengers on Wednesday. The special service took 122 passengers from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. This is first reported operation of a non-Air India carrier joining the evacuation from the UAE ever since Vande Bharat Mission commenced on May 7.

The Consulate General of India, Dubai, the cost for chartered flights has to be borne by the organisation or company availing such a service.
