UAE: Covid-19 patient in Ajman commits suicide in front of wife
An expat infected with COVID-19 committed suicide by jumping off Rawda Bridge in Ajman in front of his wife on Thursday. He died on the spot.
The wife had told the police during the investigation that her husband was afraid, and worried about losing his job because of COVID-19 infection.
He had been diagnosed with corona 5 days ago and the health authorities made him to wear a ‘tracking band,’ to make sure that he follows home quarantine protocols.
According to his wife’s statement, the man broke the home quarantine and drove his car accompanied by his wife.
He suddenly stopped in the middle of the bridge and remained silent for moments, before asking her to take care of their children, then said goodbye and got out of the car.
He went to barrier of the bridge and jumped off it.
