Four fishing boats anchored in the Sharjah Creek were gutted in a blaze on Monday morning. No casualties were reported in the fire that broke out at 10.15 am.
Firefighters from two civil defence stations were dispatched to the site to control the fire. According to a civil defence official, the fire was extinguished “within five minutes”.
“After the cooling operation, the site was handed over to the police at 12.30 pm for an investigation into the cause of the fire,” the official added.
