Residents of Masafi reported feeling gentle tremors in the afternoon on Wednesday — a result of an earthquake that struck the town.
Soon after, the National Centre of Meteorology confirmed that the border town between Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah was hit by a 2.1 magnitude tremor at 4 pm. It said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 11km and that nobody was injured and no buildings were damaged.
Additionally, the NCM recorded a 2.1 magnitude quake north of Bandar Abbas, located in the South of Iran, on Tuesday at 8:59 pm, UAE local time.
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded in the South Atlantic Ocean at 6.26am on Tuesday, according to the National Seismic Network, as posted by NCM.
