UAE introduces new therapy treatment for migraines

The UAE has recently introduced the Anti-CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide), a new treatment for migraine headaches. Migraines have been recognised as the second-highest cause of disability in the country.

The Anti-CGRP is a self-administered injection that reduces the periodicity and intensity of the migraine and manages it to near minimum.

According to Dr. Sweta Adatia, medical director and head of Neurology at RAK Hospital, the anti-CGRP treatment is covered by most health insurances in the UAE and they had in the last few months seen a good clinical response to the treatment.
