UAE: Jail, Dhs5,000 fine for not enrolling child in school

The UAE Public Prosecution, in a Tweet, clarified children’s rights to education and the penalty for not enrolling them in an educational institution.

According to the Child Rights Law (Wadeema), every child has the right to education.

Violators shall face imprisonment or a fine of no less than Dhs5,000.

The dissemination of this information comes within the framework of the UAE Public Prosecution’s ongoing campaign to enhance the legal culture among members of society, and raise the level of public awareness of the law, with the aim of spreading the culture of law as a way of life.
