UAE Lifts Restrictions on Few Voice-Calling Programs

The United Arab Emirates lifted restrictions on some programs that allow voice calls over the Internet, including Microsoft Skype for Business and Google Hang Out, to help people work from home and avoid spreading the coronavirus.

Applications allowed on all networks in the country are: Microsoft Times, Zoom, and Blackboard Applications compatible with fixed Internet networks are: Microsoft Skype for Business and Google Hang Out.

The applications are available until further notice, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said in a statement.
