The National Football Team defeated its Jordanian counterpart with a score of 1-0 in the match that was held at Khalifa International Stadium, in the third round of the group match of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, hosted by Qatar.
The winning goal was scored by Abdullah Yousif in the 34th minute of the match.
The win made the national team lead the group with six points, followed by the South Korean team with five points, and the Jordanian team in third place with four points.
The national team has now qualified for round 16 of the tournament where they will play against the Japanese team, which ranked runner-up in Group Four with six points. The South Korean team also qualified as runner-up, and the Jordanian team was among the best three in the tournament.
