Kuwait Issues Traffic Scam Warning

Kuwait has issued a warning over SMS scammers operating in the country.

The Interior Ministry warned the public against SMS messages sent by scammers asking people to pay traffic fines through a sent link or face bigger fines.

The ministry said that it does not send messages to threaten people with larger fines if they did not pay traffic violation fines.

These are scamming operations that use a website cloning the ministry’s website to deceive people, the ministry said.

It noted that it only sends alert messages of traffic violations to violators on the government digital platform, the Sahel application.

The Interior Ministry urged the public to make sure that they deal with the ministry’s official website before any payment operation.
