UAE records second-highest daily number of coronavirus cases

UAE on Friday reported 1,563 new coronavirus cases, marking the second-highest single-day infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

UAE on Thursday recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 1,578 infections.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 122,273, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health carried by WAM.

The new patients, all of whom are in a stable condition, and are receiving the necessary care, were detected after the ministry conducted 120,351 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

The ministry also announced one more death due to complications caused by the deadly virus, taking the total number of fatalities in the country to 475.

An additional 1,704 patients have fully recovered from the virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 115,068.
