‘Geminid’ meteor shower to light up Bahrain skies

The Geminid meteor shower is expected to peak in 2020 on the night of December 13-14 (Sunday evening until dawn Monday).

The Geminids are considered to be one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year, with the possibility of sighting around 120 meteors per hour at its peak.

In Bahrain, the meteor shower is expected to rise at 6:14 pm on December 13. It is expected to set on December 14 at 8:50 am.

The shower owes its name to the constellation Gemini because the meteors seem to emerge from this constellation in the sky.
