Many Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) airlines have announced ticket sales for travel in the coming months.
Oman’s SalamAir has introduced a new strategy to offer lower fares across its network, until July 31.
The sale, which began on July 24, allows passengers to book discounted tickets from Oman to the destination of their choice between September 16 and December 15. Fares begin at 19OMR (AED180) flights between Muscat and Salalah; low fares are also available on our international routes to Dubai, Delhi, and all other destinations, the airline said in a statement.
The airline’s ‘Light’ product includes 7kg hand luggage.
“By promoting our ‘Light’ product we are showing our customers how they can stretch their travel dollar by paying for only what they want. Passengers can tailor their travel to their needs by adding additional products. We are offering a wide selection of destinations, reaffirming our dedication to affordable air travel. We are delighted to offer our travel enthusiasts the chance to discover our unique destinations with significant savings,” Sherif Hosny, Director of Marketing at SalamAir said.
Meanwhile, Air Arabia, which runs operations from Sharjah, is running a ‘Big sale on small fares’ promotion, with fares starting from AED169 to India.
In addition, Emirates’ ‘Fly now, pay down the line’ offer, allows travellers to use three months of interest-free installments on select UAE bank credit cards until January 31, 2025.
Wego offers summer travel tips for MENA holidaymakers
Meanwhile, Wego, a travel app and online marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has released a set of recommendations for summer travellers.
The company, which compares prices across 700+ websites, suggests using its app to secure deals on flights, hotels, and visas.
The app allows users to reserve bookings with multiple payment options, including split payments in some countries.
“Set your Wego location to your travel destination, and you’ll be presented with trip suggestions and inspirations, from must-visit places to top recommendations for local hotels and resorts,” the company said in an emailed statement.
Wego’s travel experts advise booking early, as summer demand can lead to expensive flights and potential cancellations. They recommend considering travel insurance to cover delays, cancellations, lost luggage, and medical emergencies.
To reduce costs, the company suggests opting for early morning or overnight flights. For budget airlines, travellers are urged to review baggage policies, seat selection fees, and onboard food options.
The advice includes arriving early at airports due to summer crowds and checking in online to bypass queues. Wego also recommends downloading e-tickets to mobile devices.
For longer flights, the company suggests considering premium economy class, which often provides priority access during check-in and boarding, potential lounge access, extra legroom, and hot meals.
“With these essentials, you’ll be fully prepared for a safe and enjoyable summer journey,” the statement added.
