UAE: Travel agency shut for arranging COVID-19 tests on WhatsApp
A travel agency was closed for violating commercial activity by offering to arrange COVID-19 test requests via WhatsApp. COVID-19 tests are only conducted by the Ministry of Health and Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
The Commercial Control found that the tourism office was requesting customers via WhatsApp to fill in their data and attach passport copies through an electronic link. The customers were then asked to pay electronically.
Abdul Aziz Al Tanak, Director of the Commercial Control, said the inspection teams monitor the markets carefully to ensure that commercial establishments adhere to commercial laws.
