UAE Waives Fines For Thousands Of Firms & Employees

In line with the Year of Tolerance, the UAE announced that it has cancelled the violations and fines of more than 27,000 establishments and 12,000 employees committed before August 1, 2019.

The ministry said the waiving of fines relates to all those issued before August 1 this year. It said the decision was taken in keeping with the UAE’s Year of Tolerance.

Jebel Ali Free Zone waived an estimated AED35 million ($9.5 million) in fines owed by its businesses as part of the UAE government’s designation of 2019 as the Year of Tolerance in May this year.
