UAE: Warnings issued to recovery vehicles’ road violations
Abu Dhabi Police warned recovery vehicles who are not equipped to transport large equipment and machinery of the dangers they could bring to road users and road infrastructure.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector called on the owners of recovery vehicle carriers to adhere to the transportation of vehicles according to their classification and not to use these carriers in transporting equipment and machinery.
A fine of Dhs500 will be given for driving a heavy vehicle that does not meet the security and safety conditions, Dhs2,000 and 6 black points for loading a heavy vehicle in a manner that poses a danger to others, Dhs3000 fine for driving a heavy vehicle in a manner that endangers the safety of others, and Dhs300 and 4 black points for using the vehicle for purposes other than the intended purpose.
The police indicated that the equipment carriers need a permit to transport the equipment at night.
