Motorists driving across the UAE roads should be extra cautious today. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow red alert due to fog. Dense fog is expected in some areas of Abu Dhabi, till 9.00am.

The weather bureau has reported fog over Liwa,Habshan, Asab, and Nahil in Abu Dhabi, in the early morning today.

In a message posted on X, Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to exercise caution on the roads due to low visibility caused by fog. They urged drivers to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards for their safety.

After continued heavy rain and thunderstorms during Eid al-Adha weekend in Sharjah, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah, NCM forecasts rain to continue on Monday.

The NCM forecasts a generally fair day ahead, though there’s a possibility of convective cloud formations developing in the eastern and northern regions, which may bring periods of rainfall. Temperatures are expected to shift slightly upward, creating a warm atmosphere.

Specifically, coastal and island areas will experience temperatures ranging from a sweltering 39°C to a more temperate 36°C, while internal regions will see hotter conditions, with temperatures soaring between 44°C and 39°C. In contrast, the mountainous areas will be cooler, with temperatures fluctuating from 33°C down to 26°C.

As night falls and into Tuesday morning, humidity levels will rise, increasing the likelihood of fog and mist forming in some coastal and internal regions, particularly in the western areas. Forecasts indicate that winds will range from light to moderate, with occasional gusts that could raise dust and sand levels. Additionally, cloud cover is expected to shift throughout the day.
