Bahrain: All Commercial and Industrial Shops Now Closed

Industrial and commercial shops closed today at 7:00 pm as a precaution to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism calls on all industrial and commercial stores to comply with the decision to close the shops until 7:00 p.m. in the evening on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

All industrial and commercial shops are allowed to sell goods and services by electronic means and social media through the goods delivery service.

Restaurants and food and beverage shops are also allowed to operate through external sales services and home delivery.

The Ministry emphasises the continuation of inspection campaigns to monitor violators in coordination with all parties, calling on everyone to cooperate and join hands by adhering to all instructions issued in the national interest, noting that these measures are temporary and come in line with the latest developments containing and preventing the spread of the virus.

The Ministry also affirms that all industrial and commercial shops adhere to the rules and procedures issued by the Ministry of Health with the aim of preventing the spread of the new Corona Virus (COVID-19), especially social distancing.

Anyone who violates the provisions of this decision shall be punished with Article (121) of the Public Health Law, the penalty of which is imprisonment for a period of no less than three months and a fine of no less than one thousand dinars and no more than ten thousand dinars, or one of these two penalties.
