Riyadh Expo 2030 Will Boost Saudi Tourism; 845,000 New Hotel Rooms Planned, E-Visas Offered

Saudi Arabia will see a massive increase in tourism following the announcement iw will host the World Expo in Riyadh in 2030.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a new global milestone by winning the bid to host Expo 2030.

The event is themed “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow” and aims to achieve the Kingdom’s aspirations and write the next chapter of its success story.

Riyadh Expo 2030 boost to Saudi tourism

Hosting Expo 2030 will contribute to the rapid growth of the tourism sector in the Kingdom, which is already the fastest-growing destination in the world.

In addition, it will help diversify the sources of income, making tourism the second largest contributor to the country’s gross domestic product.

The event will also create new job and investment opportunities.

Expo 2030 will help the Saudi Tourism Authority attract millions of tourists who want to learn about the Kingdom’s unique tourist destinations and natural, climatic, and cultural diversity and enjoy inspiring tourism experiences.

The event will also open new horizons and unprecedented investment opportunities for the private tourism sector.

To support the Kingdom’s bid to host Expo 2030, the Saudi Tourism Authority participated in the “Media Oasis” pavilion at Place Vendome in Paris.

The event aimed to develop the concept of media coverage, keeping pace with national events and major occasions locally and internationally and employing modern technology in displaying major national projects and initiatives.

The Kingdom has more than 400,000 hotel rooms and plans to have 854,000 new rooms by 2030.

The recent launch of the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, with its ambitious capacity of up to 120m passengers over the next seven years, will help facilitate access for visitors to Expo 2030, the city of Riyadh, and the rest of the Kingdom’s cities, from all over the world.

Visiting the Kingdom has become easier than ever, given the unprecedented measures facilitating electronic visa issuance, making it available today to citizens of more than 59 countries worldwide.

Expo 2030 will extend over an area of 6million sq m and will see the participation of 246 participants.

It is also expected that the official website of Expo 2030 will receive approximately 40 million visits, with more than one billion digital visits to the historic Metaverse Pavilion.

The Kingdom is also expected to participate in Expo 2025, which will be held in Osaka, Japan.
