Oman: Coast Hit by 5.8 Magnitude Earthquake

The UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM) alerted of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that was recorded in the Arabian Sea at 7:24 AM on Thursday morning.

The tremor was reportedly recorded off the coast of the Sur port city of Oman, 10 km below the seabed. The NCM clarified that UAE was not impacted by the tremor, and no reports by residents were recorded.

Last month, a 4.1 magnitude tremor was recorded in the Duqm region of Oman. Residents reported feeling the tremor, however, there were no reports of damages or injuries.
