On December 26, the deepest solar eclipse will be seen in Bahrain – with 95% of the sun engulfed in a shadow cast by the moon. The country will witness a phenomenon that has only occurred once in more than 100 years!
As the sun rises tomorrow, it will be eclipsed by 77.1pc starting 6:23 am, reaching the deepest eclipse in Bahrain’s history since 1900 (95pc at 6:36 am).
The eclipse, which will continue until 7:49 am, will be seen in Bahrain and parts of the GCC.
Annular Solar Eclipse in December 2019 is the first eclipse of the season. Following it Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, which will occur on Friday, January 10, 2020. The next annular solar eclipse will occur on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
Warning has been issued against seeing the eclipse with naked eyes as this could lead to eye damage or permanent blindness.
