The AED1.2 billion ($330 million) Cityland Mall is the world’s first “nature inspired” shopping destination, incorporating a 200,000 sq ft green central park area.
Cityland Real Estate Development has hired Vindico as the construction process of the mall is in the advanced stages of completion.
Its retail capacity totals over 1.2 million sq ft of space accommodating over 350 retailers and F&B outlets. The major anchor tenant, Carrefour hypermarket, a part of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, will open its door before the end of the year.
Cityland Mall also boasts a variety of entertainment and retail global brands including VOX Cinemas, Fabyland and the Scandinavian home furnishing brand JYSK among others.
Vindico was chosen by the developer due to its vast experience in delivering retail for some of the world’s largest and most high profile schemes including Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi and Festival City, Dubai, the statement added.
In all, the company has assisted with the delivery of 65 shopping centres and airport projects, and over 9,000 shops and restaurants.
Fahimuddin Sharfuddin, the CEO, Cityland Group, said: “We are pleased to have a strategic retail professional of Vindico’s calibre come on board, as we strengthen our focus on retailers and on creating exciting shopping experiences for our visitors.
