Ferrari Slams Into Lamborghini, Killing Swiss Couple During Italian Supercar Tour; Bollywood Star Escapes Unharmed

Swiss couple who were killed in a horrifying collision when their Ferrari collided with a Lamborghini during an Italian supercar tour, have been publicly identified for the first time.

The frightening moment the couple’s automobile crashed with another couple’s as the cars attempted to pass a campervan that had tipped over was captured on video.

The victims were Marcus and Melissa Krautli, from Wallisellen near Zurich, according to police in Sardinia. Mr. Krautli was employed by the Krautli family logistics business, which includes locations in Portugal, Belgium, and Switzerland.

Bollywood star Gayatri Joshi and her husband Vikas Oberoi were among the Indian drivers who survived the accident unharmed. They were in the Lamborghini when it collided with the Ferrari driven by the Krautli family and the campervan.

Swades actress Ms Joshi told India’s The Free Press Journal: ‘Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here – a multiple-car collision. With God’s grace, we both are absolutely fine.’

On the road in southern Sardinia, Italy, yesterday, footage of the crash shows a white truck in front of a row of vibrant sports cars.

But a few seconds later, footage reveals the red Ferrari attempting to pass the camper while trailing the blue Lamborghini closely.

The Lamborghini appears to crash underneath the van as a result, and the van is then abruptly thrown onto its side. The Ferrari also toppled and caught fire, trapping the couple inside; it is hidden on the opposite side of the campervan.

The Krautlis were 67 and 63 years old, respectively. According to local media, they perished in the incident from burn injuries. The road was blocked off as firefighters and air ambulance personnel worked on the scene.

A 61-year-old man and 62-year-old woman from Selva di Val Gardena, northern Italy, who were travelling in the campervan, were hurt and sent to the hospital.

‘We were lying sideways in our seats. For a moment we were silent in disbelief. Then I looked into my wife’s eyes and asked her if she was okay. She nodded,’ Lorenzo M told Italian news outlet L’Unione Sarda.

The pair managed to escape the car by squeezing themselves out from behind the seats. Lorenzo said, “When we came out, we thought we were in hell.”

According to the publication, onlookers could hear screams coming from the Ferrari as it was on fire. The destroyed car may be seen on images at the side of the road.

In the footage, a campervan is seen blocking both lanes of traffic as it sits alongside a highly damaged blue Ferrari at the side of the road in a haze of smoke and dust.

Some of the sports vehicles that were not engaged in the incident were seen parked along the wayside in another footage of the aftermath.

In addition to ambulance staff, there were other people gathering next to the destroyed Lamborghini and the flipping campervan as black smoke rose from the burning Ferrari.

The police have taken possession of the three vehicles’ wreckage as part of their ongoing investigation.

In the Sardinian municipality of San Giovanni Suergiu, the 195 Sulcitana state road was being used by the supercars.

The couple had left Forte Village that day and was travelling to Mores, according to the Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

In the Sardinia Supercar Experience event, which began in Teulada and was scheduled to end in Olbia, all passengers of the opulent vehicles reportedly participated, according to Italian media.

The participants travel the island in flashy automobiles over the course of a few days, stopping at vistas and spending the night in opulent hotels.

The trip will cost travellers £10,409 if they drive their own vehicle. For £21,515 the organizer will rent out a Ferrari SF90 for the duration of the journey.
