Kuwait: MOH curbs medicine rates; takes legal action against violators

According to the Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah, the country has reduced the prices of 3,786 medicines since March 2015. He further affirmed that all pharmacies are under the supervision of the ministry.

The Minister of Health warned that legal action will be taken against pharmacies proven to have violated the drug pricing decisions as per Article 15 of Law No. 28/1996. He said the penalties include a prison sentence of not more than six months and a fine of KD2,000 or any one of these penalties.
