Saudi: Authorities Find 13M Amphetamine Pills Hidden in Pomegranate Shipment
Saudi authorities have thwarted smugglers attempting to bring almost 13M amphetamine tablets into the country.
General Directorate for Narcotics Control foiled an attempt to smuggle 12,729,000 tablets of amphetamine hidden in a pomegranate shipment at Jeddah Islamic Port, said the Directorate’s official spokesman, Major Marwan Al-Hazmi.
Al-Hazmi said that in coordination with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, four people were arrested.
The two Egyptians, a Syrian, and a Yemeni were arrested and accused under preliminary legal measures and referred to Public Prosecution.
