Bahrain-based KAAF Humanitarian became the first non-profit organisation in the Kingdom to receive the Trusted Charity Mark from the United Kingdom’s National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) this year. The organisation, registered under Al Eslah Society was awarded the certificate that is designed to support charities and voluntary organisations to review and improve the quality of their work against a set of international standards. Founded in 1941, KAAF Humanitarian’s non-profit endeavours range from providing food, water, shelter, and education to financing commercial projects for people with limited income as well as incubating innovative commercial projects capable of competing in the market. Relief, Stability, and Development have been the key themes of KAAF Humanitarian’s work over the years. “The achievement is a result of hard work, effort, and keeping pace with every development in the field of administrative and humanitarian work. It comes with the support and cooperation of our partners in the government and private sectors as well as the donors and beneficiaries,” said Mohammed Jasim Sayyar, CEO, KAAF Humanitarian. On 17 September, the organisation announced its achievement to a community of local changemakers, business leaders, and government-sector leaders. KAAF Humanitarian’s CEO further dedicated the achievement to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and HH Sheikh Nasser, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. Mr. Sayyar said, “Obtaining the Trusted Charity Mark is a great beginning for a bright and successful professional journey. It is an incentive for us to continuously improve, update, and develop our work to meet the international standards.” “The certificate reflects the extent of the commitment to governance, credibility, transparency, financial discipline, administrative efficiency, quality, excellence, and legal accreditation in the organisation while enhancing the confidence of donors. I would like to congratulate all the workers in KAAF Humanitarian-Al-Eslah Society and its volunteers on this wonderful achievement, which reflects the quality and trust they possess,” the CEO added.
