Saudi: 102,600 Regulated Medical Tablets Thwarted

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 102,600 pills that are subject to medical regulation in the Najran region. In coordination with the General Directorate of Border Guards, GDNC said that it has arrested 3 Yemenis who were trying to smuggle this quantity.

GDNC added that they have also seized sums of money from the defendants. The legal measures were taken against the accused, and then they were referred to the Public Prosecution, GDNC confirmed.

The security agencies urged all the citizens and residents who have any information about activities related to smuggling or promoting drugs to immediately report that by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and Al-Sharqiyah regions, and 999 in the rest of Saudi Arabia’s regions.

The reports will be also accepted on the GDNC’s number: 995, as well as the email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All the reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.
