Bahrain: NHRA Shuts Down Unlicensed Multi-Specialty Health Centre

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has closed down a health institution operating as a multi-specialty centre, despite its licence having previously been revoked.

This action was part of the Authority’s ongoing campaigns to ensure health institutions meet required standards and provide quality and efficient healthcare services to the public, safeguarding their health and safety.

Judicial officers at the Authority closed the centre, which had initially been licensed as a multi-specialty centre but later had its licence cancelled for failing to meet the Authority’s requirements.

The infractions cited by the Authority against this institution are manifold: – Operating and overseeing a healthcare facility without a valid licence, notwithstanding the cancellation of its previous licence and a formal notice to cease operations-Administering healthcare services without the sanction of the Authority Furthermore, the institution engaged in misleading the public through publications and advertisements, falsely portraying itself as licensed by the Authority.

The Authority’s scrutiny also revealed the institution’s acceptance of patients in the absence of appropriately licensed medical staff and the utilisation of certain medical equipment past its expiration date.

In light of these breaches, the judicial officers issued formal directives and enforced the administrative closure of the centre.

This action aims to protect the health and safety of its visitors and maintain the quality of healthcare services, pending the conclusion of the requisite legal proceedings.

The NHRA has urged the public to report any violations related to health institutions or their employees by contacting the hotline number 17113265 or submitting complaints through the National Suggestions and Complaints System. (Tawasul)
