Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Unveils Massive Lagoon Resort ‘Treyam’

Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion futuristic mega-project NEOM has announced its latest tourism development: a massive luxury lagoon resort named Treyam.

The resort will be located on the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba and is being touted as a “gateway” for active and adventurous travellers.

Treyam is strategically positioned where the desert meets the sea, nestled against a beautiful azure lagoon. The resort aims to integrate itself into the natural landscape while providing guests with panoramic views of the lagoon and open waters.

NEOM said minimal land intervention was required for the resort’s “audacious design.” The goal is to create an “elevated haven” where guests can relax and re-energize amidst majestic natural surroundings.

The architecture of Treyam centres around a bridge-like structure connecting the north and south shores of the lagoon. The 250-room luxury hotel is housed within the bridge itself.

NEOM said the bridge’s innovative sloped facade gives the illusion of a perpetual sunset when viewed from a distance. Guests on the upper and lower floors will have unobstructed views of the lagoon and open skies.

Treyam is being marketed as a resort for the adventurous traveller. Guests will have access to a wide range of water sports, like sailing and diving in the lagoon. A variety of exciting land-based activities will also be available.

The resort will feature extensive fitness amenities and luxury spa treatments. The goal is to facilitate active lifestyles paired with relaxation.

The highlight of Treyam is a massive 450-meter infinity pool on the roof of the bridge structure. At 36 metres above the sea, the elevated pool aims to make guests feel as though they are floating while taking in panoramic views.

Epicurean cuisine and fine dining options will also be available at Treyam. The architecture and natural beauty provide a spectacular backdrop for the resort’s amenities.

NEOM said Treyam represents a new benchmark for sustainable luxury tourism. The resort minimises its environmental impact by utilising the natural landscape and seamlessly integrating the architecture.
The latest asset to be announced by NEOM, Treyam joins a host of sustainable tourism destinations within the Gulf of Aqaba.

They include Zardun, a new mega luxury resort amid a restored sanctuary filled with animals and wildlife, Xaynor, a paradisiacal retreat, mountain resort Aquellum, an exclusive ‘tourism escape’ Siranna, the new sustainable tourism destination Leyja, Epicon, – which will feature residential beach villas, hotels, luxurious resort – Utamo, a new destination for art and entertainment that aims to host performances from the globe’s biggest artists, wellness retreat Elanan and Norlana, an ultra-modern active lifestyle community.

Meanwhile, work is continuing on NEOM’s flagship regions, including vertical city THE LINE, business hub Oxagon, luxury yachting destination Sindalah and the mountain resort of Trojena, which will all be powered entirely by renewable, clean energy.
