Dr. Yusuf Al Tahoo Becomes First Bahraini Family Physician to Represent Bahrain in Al Razi Group Under World Organisation of Family Doctors

Bahrain Family Physicians Association (BFPA) nominated Dr. Yusuf Ahmed Al Tahoo to represent young doctors in Al Razi Group under the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA)-East Mediterranean Region (EMR).

Dr. AlTahoo’s membership was accepted based on his scientific activities.

The group, being in the organisation, focuses on highlighting the importance of family medicine to young doctors as well as the community, locally and regionally.

It also aims to spread awareness with regards to family medicine being the cornerstone of any healthcare system in the Arab world.

Furthermore, the Administrative Board of the Bahrain Family Physicians Association (BFPA) extends its congratulations to Dr. Yusuf for being the first Bahraini family physician to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain internationally in Al Razi Group for young family physicians, as well as his election as Executive Council Member.

It is expected that Dr. Yusuf will represent the Kingdom of Bahrain internationally in Al Razi Group, thereby highlighting the pivotal role of primary healthcare, which aligns with the health policies of the Kingdom of Bahrain in providing quality primary healthcare, said Dr. Bashayer Habib, Board Member of Bahrain Family Physicians Association (BFPA), Treasurer and Head of Scientific Committee.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Yusuf AlTahoo works as a medical practitioner in the Kingdom’s Family Practice Residency Programme (FPRP).

He is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-MUB) and has made notable contributions to various activities in the medical sector and public health awareness, as well as being a member of several medical societies in the Kingdom.

The group aims to highlight the importance of family medicine to young doctors and the community, promoting its role as the cornerstone of the Arab healthcare system.
