Under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa, Al Fursan Team Captain, the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) will hold the Best Horse Condition Award, as part of the 120-m HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Cup for private stables.
The competition is held as part of the “HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship” which kicked off today at the Bahrain Endurance Village.
The award is handed out based on several criteria, including heart rate, cooling time, dehydration rate, intestinal movement and evaluation of appearance.
These evaluations are performed in the first hour after the horse’s arrival, considering the first-place horse and the subsequent positions. Any horse that does not meet the required health standards after a one-hour rest is disqualified.
The rules and criteria of the award are the same followed by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI).
