Bahrain Confirms IRGC, Wilayat Al Faqih Links In Alleged Terror And Espionage Case

The Ministry of Interior in Bahrain has said a group linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was involved in organised terrorist activity targeting members of the Shia community in the country. In a statement posted on its official account, the ministry said the group’s members were involved in what it described as organised terrorist activity within Bahrain. Alleged ideological and organisational links The ministry alleged that the main organisation is connected to elements associated with the so-called Guardianship of the Jurist ideology and includes individuals linked to a dissolved clerical council and its affiliates. It added that the group is based on members of the dissolved Islamic Scholars Council and individuals aligned with it. Terror and espionage claims Authorities further claimed that elements of the group established a terrorist organisation and were involved in espionage activities in favour of Iran. The ministry also said members of the network were operating through structured cells and carrying out activities it described as a threat to national security. Bahrain Arrests 41 Over Alleged Links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said security authorities had arrested 41 individuals allegedly linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, following investigations into cases involving contact with foreign entities and expressions of support for Iranian aggression. According to the ministry, investigations and security reports uncovered an organisation connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and the ideology of “Wilayat Al Faqih”, a political-religious doctrine central to Iran’s system of governance. Authorities said the 41 suspects were members of the group’s “main organisation” and had been taken into custody, while legal proceedings against them were under way.  Security agencies were also continuing search and investigative operations to identify others suspected of involvement in the network or of carrying out activities deemed in violation of Bahraini law. 7-Year-Old Indian Boy Dies After Falling From Building in Bahrain

A seven-year-old Indian boy died in Bahrain after accidentally falling from a residential building. The deceased, Derick Joseph Jismon, was the only child of Jismon and Aksa, an Indian expatriate couple. Derick was a second-grade student at the Indian School Bahrain. The tragic incident occurred at the family’s second-floor apartment near the American Mission Hospital. Reports indicate that the boy accidentally fell through an open window of the flat. Following the fall, neighbors rushed him to the Salmaniya Medical Complex. Despite receiving specialized care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), he succumbed to his injuries. The loss has sent a wave of grief through the Indian community in Bahrain and among his schoolmates and teachers. Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has said investigations have confirmed that members of a recently dismantled group were in direct contact with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Authorities said the arrested individuals collected funds with the intention of transferring them to Iran to support the IRGC and finance what it described as terrorist operations. Criminal investigations underway The ministry said its findings are based on ongoing criminal investigations and evidence gathered by security agencies. It added that the detainees were part of an organised network under probe for alleged external links and financial activity connected to the IRGC. Bahrain: Unanimous Vote Removes Three MPs

Bahrain parliament voted unanimously on Thursday to strip Abdulnabi Salman, Mamdouh Al Saleh and Mahdi Al Shuwaikh of their seats, approving a request filed by 37 MPs and backed by the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee. The case arose from the three MPs’ stance during Parliament’s 28 April 2026 debate on Decree-Law No. 13 of 2024, amending Article 7 of the Judicial Authority Law. The Interior Ministry of Bahrain launched a “comprehensive security and legal review” into a series of cases linked to alleged espionage and support for “blatant Iranian aggression,” according to a statement.The ministry of Bahrain said investigations indicated that individuals arrested in connection with the cases had “close links” to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and were influenced by the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih. The probe also includes scrutiny of alleged unlawful practices and the use of ideological and religious messaging across media platforms, places of worship, and social, charitable and educational institutions, including schools and kindergartens. The misleading use of the term “CBD” to disguise dangerous synthetic substances circulating among young people. This warning was issued by Colonel Dr. Osama Bahar as part of the Ministry of Interior’s Al Aman Program, highlighting growing concerns over the increasing circulation of synthetic drugs being falsely presented under misleading names. Prison Terms for 10 Juveniles

A juvenile court in Bahrain sentenced 10 minors to prison terms in separate cases linked to violence and vandalism. The Minor Criminal Court for Juveniles issued rulings in six cases, handing down sentences ranging from two to three years. It also ordered the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre to submit a progress report on the juveniles after six months to assess whether the sentences should continue or be replaced with alternative measures. According to the prosecution, the cases involved the juveniles’ participation in unauthorised gatherings during which acts of violence and damage to public property were reported. Police arrested the youths in the Northern Governorate and referred to the Public Prosecution for questioning before being sent to court. The prosecution said the defendants were interrogated in line with legal safeguards before being placed in detention pending trial. Up To Five Years For Filming Key Sites

The court sentenced defendants to prison terms of up to five years in two separate cases linked to filming sensitive infrastructure during what authorities described as “malicious Iranian attacks” on the kingdom. The Head of the Terrorism Crimes Prosecution said the Minor Criminal Court issued rulings ranging from one to five years in prison. One defendant was also fined 100 Bahraini dinars, and the confiscation of seized items was ordered in both cases. According to prosecutors, the first case involved a social media account monitored by the Cybercrime Directorate that published footage of vital facilities during the attacks, leading to the suspect’s arrest. In the second case, the defendant was detained while allegedly filming key installations, an act act deemed a violation of national security laws.
