The incident happened during a speech Biden gave to hospitality workers in Las Vegas ahead of Tuesday’s Nevada primary.

Biden also struggled to differentiate between Germany and France during the garbled monologue.

Biden said he attended the meeting, “And I sat down and said America’s back.”

“And Mitterrand from Germany, I mean from France, looked at me and said, uh, s-said, you know, what, why, how long you back for?”

Biden was presumably referring to French President Emmanuel Macron, someone who hasn’t been dead for 28 years.

The White House later amended the remarks with the name “Mitterrand” crossed out and replaced with “Macron”.

[ZH: It’s not the first time he’s “misspoken”]

Biden, who will be 86-years-old by the time his next term ends if he wins, appears to be suffering an accelerated cognitive decline.
