E-scooters or any type of bike can be operated in Dubai only after getting a driving license permit, authorities have announced. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will issue the licenses for e-scooters or any other types of bikes.
These came as Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council issued a resolution regulating the use of bicycles and e-scooters in Dubai. According to the resolution, cyclists below 12 years should be accompanied by an adult who is 18 or older. Riders below 16 years are not permitted to ride an e-scooter.
No further details were announced about the driving license permits for e-scooter riders.
