India opens world’s largest stadium

India has officially opened the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium, in the western state of Gujarat.

The stadium can accommodate 132,000 spectators, thus dislodging the 90,000-seat Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Narendra Modi Stadium is the only stadium in the world with 11 centre pitches on the main ground. It has six indoor pitches with bowling machines and four dressing rooms.
