Kuwait: Owners of Fake Accounts to Face Severe Punishments

Anyone caught handling fake accounts on the social media and uploading messages that could destabilize security, attack their colleagues or senior official, or leak sensitive security information would face severe disciplinary punishment under new instructions from the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting senior sources.

In addition, those caught will be suspended from work for their actions, referred to the judiciary for questioning and dismissed if found guilty. The Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation to verify the information received about some members of the Interior Ministry operating fake accounts on websites for malicious purposes against some of their colleagues or senior officials.
