Motorists in Oman will soon need to start paying tolls for using some of the roads in the country, says the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
Tolls will be introduced on the roads, once alternative routes have been introduced in the areas they cover.
Special roads will be built exclusively for heavy-duty trucks, to help them reach their destinations quicker, and not contribute to the main highway traffic.
