Oman witnesses heavy rains; Tropical storm expected

 A tropical storm in the Arabian Sea is expected to affect the Sultanate in the coming days.

Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said in a statement, “Specialists at the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Center followed the weather situation in the Arabian Sea, where it is possible to form a tropical storm and outflow of clouds to the northern governorates of the Sultanate, starting next Saturday, with varying heavy rains expected.”

Some parts of the Sultanate witnessed heavy rains and active winds, Oman Meteorology said in a statement yesterday.

Heavy rains accompanied by active winds continued in Al Hajar mountains, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah in Oman, Oman Meteorology has said.

The General Directorate of Meteorology said, “Cloudy formations activity on Al Hajar Mountains with fall of heavy rain on Al Hajar mountains areas, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah, in addition to some formations that also active on the Dhofar desert, with fall of rain.”
