South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command thwarted a smuggling attempt of more than 46,000 boxes of banned cigarettes after the defendants smuggled them across the sea and loaded them into two trucks.
In another case, Muscat Governorate Police Command arrested 8 people of Asian nationality on charges of stealing electric cables and wires from several locations in the Misfah area in the Wilayat of Bausher.
Additionally, 8 people have been arrested in North Al Batinah Governorate. Royal Oman Police said: “The Coast Guard Police in North Al Batinah Governorate seized a boat carrying 8 infiltrators of Asian nationalities while trying to enter the country illegally.”
ROP added that legal procedures are being completed against the accused.
