Saudi Arabia and Canada will restore diplomatic ties following the 2018 dispute. Saudi Arabia and Canada are to restore diplomatic ties following a dispute started in 2018.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada held discussions on the sidelines of the summit of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in Bangkok on November 18 2022.

Based on those talks both sides desire to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries based on mutual respect, and common interests. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has been decided to restore the level of diplomatic relations with Canada to its previous state. Both countries will appoint new ambassadors and resume diplomatic talks.
