Saudi Arabia Fighter Jet Crashes, Crew Killed

A Saudi fighter jet crashed while on a training mission, according to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence.

The crash occurred near the King Khalid Airbase in Khamis Mushait, around 800km to the southwest of Riyadh.

The Ministry has launched an investigation into the fatal crash.

The F-15 SA Fighter jet is a two-seater plane, but the Ministry announcement, carried by the state run news agency SPA, did not clarify the number of people killed in the crash.

A statement by Ministry of Defence spokesperson Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki said: “At (14.28) on Wednesday (July 26 2023), a Royal Saudi Air Force F-15 SA fighter jet crashed during a training mission in King Khalid Airbase’s training area in (Khamis Mushait).

“The accident resulted in the martyrdom of the aircrew, may Allah have mercy on them, and may He accept them as righteous martyrs. We ask Allah to grant their families and relatives patience and acceptance.

“An investigation committee has commenced its proceedings to unfold the reasons behind this accident.”
