Saudi Arabia: Power outage hits King Fahd International airport

A power outage hit an airport in Saudi Arabia’s eastern region today, Sabq online newspaper reported.

The King Fahd Dammam airport experienced a temporary power cut that did not affect air traffic at the facility, according to the report.

“Our dear passengers, we apologise to you for the temporary electricity cut,” Sabq quoted the airport administration as saying. “Electricity has returned to normal. We thank your understanding and cooperation,” it added without explaining the cause of the outage.

Dammam is the main city in Saudi Eastern Province. On May 31, Saudi Arabia resumed domestic flights after a halt of more than two months due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The kingdom partially restarted international flights last month.
