Saudi Arabia reports 1,136 new cases and 10 deaths

Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia fell to 1,136 on Friday after surging past the 1,300-mark for the first time in more than nine months.

According to the Ministry of Health, 10 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 438,705 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,224.

The ministry also reported 980 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 422,706.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 342 followed by the Makkah region with 276, the Eastern region with 150, and the Madinah region with 73 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 8,775 active cases and 1,331 of them were in critical condition.
