Saudi Arabia: Vaccination center opens in Madinah
Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said that more than 295,000 people have so far received coronavirus vaccination in the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, coronavirus vaccination campaign was launched in Madinah, with first doses of vaccine received by Madinah Emir Prince Faisal Bin Salman and Deputy Emir Prince Saud Bin Khaled Al-Faisal.
Addressing the daily press briefing, Al-Abdel Ali said: “The vaccine is the key and strong weapon that secures our health.”
He said that those who are qualified to receive vaccine in the Kingdom are firstly citizens and expatriates who have valid national IDs and residency permits (iqama) respectively, and this will be after registering through Sehhaty application.
In Madinah, the vaccination center has been set up at Nujoud Medical Center, adjacent to King Fahd General Hospital. Emir Prince Faisal Bin Salman inaugurated the center. There are five pavilions and each pavilion consists of five vaccination stations, while two pavilions are designated for emergency cases.
Madinah is the fourth city where the vaccination centers have opened across the Kingdom. The vaccination campaign launched in Riyadh on Dec. 17 with Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah receiving the first dose and it was followed by vaccination centers in Jeddah and Dammam.
