Saudi: Two Female University Students Die In Traffic Accident In Makkah

Two students of Umm Al-Qura University were killed and four others injured in a traffic accident in Makkah on Monday afternoon. According to reports, a minibus, carrying the students, swerved during rainfall and collided with one of the lighting poles on the traffic island of the road.

The driver of the minibus also sustained injuries in the accident. The injured students and driver were transferred to hospitals for treatment. The accident occurred on the Fourth Ring Road in Makkah and the girls involved in the accident are students at the university branch located in Al-Zahir neighborhood.

Security officials and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams immediately reached the accident scene, and the bodies of the deceased students were taken to hospital mortuary.

In a statement on its X account, the Saudi Traffic Directorate confirmed the death and injury of the university students in Makkah, saying that all the legal procedures have been completed following the accident.

The Umm Al-Qura University president and employees expressed their sincere prayers for the deceased two students and offered condolences to their bereaved families. They also prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.
