UAE: Abu Dhabi Issues Safety Guidelines for Liwa Festival

Abu Dhabi Police issued a string of safety and traffic guidelines to adhere to for the much anticipated annual Liwa festival. This year the festival is taking place in Abu Dhabi‘s Al Dhafra region, the festival usually attracts motor enthusiasts for several challenges including a drag race, track challenge, classic cars competition and more.

Guidelines issued for Liwa festival visitors

  • Do not perform dangerous stunts with cars or motorcycles near the camping area.
  • Make sure your track is safe while going up and down the hill to avoid accidents.
  • Do not use all types of motorcycles on paved roads.
  • Wear helmets while riding motorcycles.
  • Loud cars and motorcycles are not allowed near camping areas.
  • Make sure seatbelts are fastened, headlights are switched on and speed limits followed.
  • Use of drones and gliders are strictly prohibited unless relevant permission is obtained.

The iconic ‘Tal Moreeb‘ is one of the world’s largest dunes and one of the main focal points of the festival.

Liwa Village which is part of the festival features music events, workshops, and food trucks.

Camping options are also available for those who wish to stay the night from bedouin-style tents to glamping pods and RVs.
